NYC and Canada

Recently we traveled to NYC and Canada for some medical treatment. We only had a few hours on two days, but thankfully I felt decent enough to do a little sightseeing in NYC. Spencer had never been and it had been since I was a junior in high school when I was there and that was for a high school choir trip so there was very little time to see the sights.

 We were there the day after the new World Trade Center building surpassed the Empire State Building as the tallest building in NYC.

 We had the best $5 gyro and falafel wrap off a food truck in Times Square. Yum!

 We drove 7 hours from NYC to Cornwall, Ontario Canada, just over the border of New York. We thought being Americans we wouldn't have any problems entering Canada, but apparently there is a lot of cigarette smuggling from the Indian Reservation that is on the New York side. After talking with an immigration officer for a while we made it through, but learned we should have had a letter from a doctor. They were surprised to see an American coming to Canda for medical treatment...usually it's the other way around!

You can't tell it from my face, but the 5 day treatment was brutal (seriously the most painful experience of my life). But I did get out for a few minutes one afternoon. Here we are on the St. Lawrence River waterfront.
