Naomi is constantly talking, singing, or making noises. We don't remember what it was like to have a quiet house (she's been a vocal child since birth -literally)! She talks pretty much like a big kid now and says new things every day. There are still occasionally things she says that I have to ask her to repeat, but she doesn't seem like a toddler anymore. She really likes letters and is already showing interest in reading. My mom has a Leap Frog game that helps you learn to spell and sound out 3-letter words and she does really well with that. She has foam letters in her bathtub and sometimes we will say 3-letter words sounding them out and and she will find the correct letters. She pretends to read books to herself all the time and when she is drawing she tries to "write" letters. She's been spelling her name out-loud for several months now and recognizes some names when she sees them written. We have a prayer basket with popscicle sticks and on each stick is written the names of people to pray for. Last night was Biplab (our Compassion sponsor child) and tonight was my brother, Kaleb and she recognized both names when she saw them! She's not as interested in numbers, but is beginning to recognize most of numbers 1-20 when she sees them written.
She loves to put together puzzles right now and can do a good portion of a 25 piece puzzle once you get her started. She also really loves to draw/color and is very interested in maps. We have a large world map in our laundry room and recently put push pins to represent where family and missionary friends live. She talks about Africa and India a lot (wonder where she gets that from?! :)) And of course she loves playing outside any chance she gets!
She loves going to school and is sad sometimes on Mondays and Fridays when she doesn't go to school! Her "best friends" at school she says are Claire and Maggie & Merrell (who are twins). She really loves playing with our friends' daughters, Emily and Ella, and she gets so excited when we get together! She loves going and doing things. Sometimes if we are out running errands she will ask, "where are we going now?" and she gets upset if I say it's time to go home! She especially loves going out to eat, probably because we don't do it very much. Her favorite place is definitely Chick -"e"-"lay" (Chick-fil-A). She's only been to Arby's a couple of times, but it's cute because she calls it "Miss Barbie's" (that's her teacher's name!).
She still sleeps about 11 hours at night and takes a 2 hr nap most days. I pray she continues taking naps for a while! She was doing really well with potty training but a couple of weeks ago she started to regress and doesn't want to go or has accidents. Not sure exactly why, but I hope it's a short phase! She's still a great eater and some meals eats as much as I do! She loves peanut butter sandwiches and asks for one almost everyday when she is picked up from preschool. She likes fruit a lot and her favorites right now are probably cantaloupe and pears. After every lunch/supper she will say, "What does Naomi need?" The answer is something "sweet". She usually gets 2 plain animal crackers or a graham cracker, but she loves it when she can have a special treat like a cookie or ice cream!
She pays attention to everything we say and do and says the funniest things. The other day when I was driving to go to my parent's house she thought I was going the way we go to school and she told me that wasn't the way to Grammy's house. When I asked her which way that was she said "to school". She knows when we turn right at the stop sign on our street it's to Grammy's and left it's to church/school! This week when she got home from school she said she was going to Disney over spring break (her friends Maggie and Merrell are going) next week. When I asked her what she is going to do at Disney she said, "hang out"! Who is this big girl?! Spencer and I say all the time, "how did she get so big?".
A comparison of her at 18 months and now. Look at those long legs!

| Her hair has grown so much this year! She's almost too big for the "baby swing". |
