This Good Friday I was reminded of this old hymn written to new music we used to sing at our church in Louisville. I love the chorus and how appropriate as we meditate on the work Jesus did for us on the cross. An old friend helped me find the song again recorded by Red Moutain Music. You can hear a clip of the song here We pray Jesus' life, death, and resurrection has changed your life and you too can sing that you are "Satisfied".
All my lifelong I had panted
For a drink from some cool spring.
That I hoped would quench the burning
Of the thirst I felt within.
Chorus:
Hallelujah He has found me.
The One my soul so long has craved
Jesus satisfies all my longings.
Through His blood I now am saved.
Feeding on the filth around me
Till my strength was almost gone.
Longed my soul for something better
Only still to hunger on.
Poor I was and sought for riches
Something that would satisfy.
But the dust I gathered 'round me
Only mocked my soul's sad cry.
Well of water ever springing
Bread of life so rich and free.
Untold wealth that never faileth
My Redeemer is to me.
