Our little baby is 2 months old today! She is getting so big. We took her to the doctor last Friday and she had to get 3 shots and the rotavirus vaccine by mouth. She cried pretty hard, but did ok and slept a lot that day. She weighed 11 lbs 5 oz (a little above the 50th %) and was 23 1/4 inches (a little above the 75%). I can't remember the head circumference, but it was a little below the 50th%. She nurses about 7-8 times a day usually every 2.5-3 hours during the day and sleeps about 5.5-8hours straight at night (that's starting at 8 or 9pm and it's usually more around the 6-6.5 hr range, but every night is different). We moved her to her crib when she was 7 weeks old. I was a little sad, but she was ready. She was getting too big for her bassinet and I think we are all sleeping better now. Naomi is such an active little girl. She is constantly kicking her legs and tries to push up with her legs on your lap when you hold her over your shoulder. She smiles so big and loves to talk to us, cooing and saying 'ah goo'. She looks at her toys, but still seems just as content staring up at the ceiling fan or at whatever catches her eye. We are starting to learn more about her patterns and her cries, though sometimes we have to just say as one of our favorite Ugandan quotes, 'these things cannot be known' :) She, really God through her is teaching us a lot as we learn how to be parents and we wonder what we did all the time before we had her!
This past Sunday we did a fall 'photo shoot'. Naomi wasn't as 'smiley' as usual, but she did great despite the cool weather. Don't you just love her little sweater?!
There's a little smile for us.
Us with Kari's family. These pictures look professional, don't they? My Mom has a great camera and we set up the tri-pod for this one. There's not a ton of fall color yet, but I think they turned out pretty good.
